Hey there,
How are you feeling? It's been a bad flu season.
It's been said "Feed a cold, starve a fever." It's also been said, "If you're sick below the neck (chest pain, stomach flu) don't run or do high impact. If you just got over a head cold, walk or try light jogging or low impact aerobics."
It's also been said to give 24 hours to make sure you're not contagious after most colds/fevers/flu bugs.
On Thursday I just thought I had bad allergies. Friday I felt sluggish and a little sniffly, but went to work. OK bad choice. I couldn't focus. Felt like, crap, for lack of a better word. I even made mistakes (and cried because I felt so bad that I let my coworkers down and wasn't much help! I'm super sensitive and I felt so unprofessional).
I woke up Saturday feeling like a truck had run over me.
Sunday and Monday I woke feeling a ton better. Tuesday I was bummed because I felt tired and almost sick again (I wanted to stay healthy and strong and well and I had plans to go out last night too) so I stayed home and rested. I have had 0 energy to work out. I don't think I had a fever, but I'm waiting to feel 100% before I try something hard!
Today, a week later, I'm still emotional (down on myself for not focusing) and feeling sniffly:( Like allergies or a sinus infection? However, I survived Pilates! It was hard but so good for me. I think I’m back up to par. I even tried a netti pot for the first time and it was gross but good for my sinuses. :) What do you do when you’re getting over a cold?
