Back at it! Challenges & Giveaways

Hey all,

After a break from social media, and after some technical difficulties with my wix blog, I am BACK in the habit again! For the month of August, my work (USC Keck Medicine) is challenging us to protect our eyes and wear sunglasses more! I have sunglasses everywhere, all over the house, car, work, in my purse. I have one good prescription pair and one nice pair for cycling and then all the others are quite cheap (freebies, giveaways, logos, and fun colors). I am always worried about losing or breaking them so I forget to wear them. I have heard my bluegreen eyes are sensitive to light. I am a headache/migraine sufferer too. I have gotten to wear I need glasses for work and driving and theatres and such (for distance), so why don't I switch out my sunnies every now and then in SUNNY CALIFORNIA?! I don't know why I haven't before. Even my backpack has a lil hideaway pouch to protect my glasses. So far this week I've been pretty good about putting them on! I really notice a difference! Then today I caught myself squinting and holding them in my hand, and I thought, "silly me why am I not wearing these?!"

What about you, do you love your sunglasses? Do you not go out without them? Do you have a favorite brand that you adore? I kinda hated when people wear them inside though, because I felt like they were snooty and didn't want to look me in the eye or they were too egotistical to remove them, but maybe they are sensitive to fluorescent light, so I shouldn't judge! I like reading eyes, trying to listen with my left eye, seeing the non verbals. To each his/her own.

Now at the Blogfest/IdeaWorld Fit Expo, I had the pleasure of meeting a couple really cool people. I met Dan from FitDegree, I met some people from the Swisse vitamin team, I met Dr K from the Intelliroll foam roll company, I tried out some cool fitness equipment, and I got to meet Jill from Hidrate Spark. I know it seems belated, but I needed some rest and a break from social media. I would get depressed if I scrolled all day on there. Politics just makes me angry, the news makes me sad, or I compare myself and see all these moms and babies out there (since I am TTC and struggle with infertility). I then re added my apps and changed my notification settings and posted a bunch from my vacation last weekend. Now that I'm home and back in the swing of things, I wanted to try and fix my blog and start blogging again. So I'm going to be scheduling some challenges and giveaways!

This week I'm going to try to drink more water with my new Teal Hidrate Spark 2.0 water bottle! This is my favorite color, and y'all know I am a water bottle/cup/glass freak. I love drinking, beverages and water and drinks of all kinds! I love artsy coffee shops, tea bars, tea cups, new mugs, essential oil in my glass or stainless steel bottles, tumblers, mason jars, and recycables. I love my Camelbak dual filter pitcher and I love my local kangen alkaline phBalanced Aqualand store. At work I get lazy and don't like to refill small cups (getting up requires me to interrupt my focused work on my computer. Though I love my fitbit and getting steps, I don't like to be distracted!) so I was enjoying my navy Takeya 40 oz or my hydroflask ombre 40oz (it has blue/green colors :)) So when I got the chance to try Hidrate Spark, I jumped at it and am liking it so far.

I will re blog after a week of using it to give you a full review.

I will let you know as soon as I start my yoga challenge and my intelli roll challenge and my Swisse vitamin challenge. I have been trying to remember to take my Swisse vitamins but haven't been 100% faithful, so I want to give them a real go as soon as I can.

After next week November Project is doing a 5day workout challenge so I will alert you on that as well, then I'll do a yoga pose and meditate challenge with a intelliroll stretch challenge:)

Grateful to be doing the fitness enthusiast things that I love! Working out, hydrating, walking my dogs, thankful for my health, my plant based diet, my stretching and journaling too! I will let you all know how it all goes!

What about you? Do you have a morning routine or an evening routine where you do any of these? How do you remember to re hydrate? Do you wake up ready to stretch or foam roll or move? Do you relax at night and unwind with a good yoga routine? Do you love to meditate?
