4 more days of HYDRATION!

This Thursday 8/30 is the last day my code ChristianaG10 will get you a discount on the HIDRATESPARK water bottle!

And boy did I need it this month! Stress, the heat, walking my dogs, and most of all, November Project's HIELL WEEK all were good reasons for why I needed to rehydrate all day long.

I actually have found that I need a little more water or feel thirsty more often than the hidrate spark thought; I bumped it up to "Make it glow" x10 on the highest flash setting on my Hidrate App. (At first I could hardly get it to flash or glow so I wasn't drinking enough. But then I realized I can change that in Settings.) I love the teal color (they have other colors too!) but I wish I could put essential oils in it (I only use DoTerra Lemon in my glass or stainless steel bottles).

This past Thursday we went swing dancing and my friends loved seeing it light up in the dim lit auditorium. They were like, "Wait a minute what is glowing? It's like you're at a rock or rave concert and you got a glow necklace!" So I told them about it.

OK so what HIELL Week am I talking about? Why was I extra thirsty?

It was November Project's 5 days of hellish hills all around Los Angeles, that's what it was. Whew! On the Saturday before, I had gone to Gold's for a Booty Bootcamp workout that made me super sore...Then I proceeded to get even more sore on these hilly workouts! Woah! What was I thinking?

On Monday we went to Baxter, which is similar to 2 steep hills facing each other just like you'd see in San Francisco. They even have some stairs a block away for us to climb. We brought our shirts for "tagging" (a unique stencil each day we came to work out) and so I got the 32% tagged on mine. That's the grade of the hill! Wow. OK so I was very embarrassed that I think my dog or another dog might have peed on one of my friend's shirts to be tagged! I apologized and offered to wash it or buy her one, but I think she forgave me or didn't blame me because she figured we weren't sure which dog it really was that did it.

Tuesday we woke early and drove to the west side, and got to see the sunrise and skyline from the other side this time. I am used to seeing it from Griffith, from the northeastern Glendale area, so that was a plus. As Lefty and I are climbing the famous old Baldwin Hill stairs, I see a "No Dogs" sign! I held him and made sure he didn't leave any messes. I was happy to go home if a Ranger or someone asked me too, but we made it without any problems. Next time I'll check the website instead of assuming.

Wednesday we were back at Griffith for our normal workout. Hills plus some body weight workouts! I didn't get a great pic (it was overcast and normally I get beautiful pictures of the view). I was super hungry though (That's an Amy's Vegan Breakfast Burrito!) !

Thursday we went to Micheltorina which is similar to Baxter. It also has this hidden mansion that a starlet once bought and tried to take over that hill. I met some new friends too, they drive from further east so I'm not sure when I'll see them again. I was impressed with their early morning energy!

Friday we ended it with our Sunrise 6k. I've been before, but it is hard for me to drive to the beach with traffic coming back. We ran through Santa Monica and Venice boardwalks. It was very pretty, and guess what, NO HILLS. I always think I run faster or bike faster on the beach but no I was sore and tired, so I took my time. My tribe was super awesome to wait for me and cheer me on and gave us each a medal with the 6k stencil!

This week I'm going to be diligent about re filling my hidrate spark. Sometimes I get lazy, so I am used to my big water bottles where I don't have to get up and go find a filling station. But hey, more steps is always good too eh?

Remember, always always rehydrate! This week/next month we are going off alcohol. It's super hard, I love a nice relaxing glass of wine once in a while, but for health and TTC reasons, I think it's smart. In the mornings when I have my coffee and/or tea, I try to drink extra water, just like as if it were soda or even alcohol, because all of those dehydrate our bodies.

DRINK UP! CHEERS! Go check out hidrate spark!
